The day of new friends, fishing techniques and just plain fun concluded with a fish fry in town for the kids and their families.
Thanks to the planning committee and all the sponsors for their support of this fantastic day for all!
The fifth annual Laporte Area Take a Kid Fishing event is currently being planned for 2015 and will take place on
Saturday June 6th. Our purpose is to help area youth discover to great sport of fishing. Again this year, local
fisher-persons will donate their time and equipment to host children ages 10-15 for a fishing excursion that leaves
them with lifetime memories and a few fish! The day concludes with a fish fry in honor of our participants and their
families as well as our fishing hosts. The fish fry will be open to the public to help support our young anglers with a
free will donation. Fishing is about fun, learning, relationships, and tradition, but it is also important to our economic
welfare here in Northern Minnesota. We are very proud of the program we have put together the last few years and
plan to make it bigger and better in 2015 and each year forward. In order to be able to continue area youth, we need
your support. Your donation, whether monetary or in-kind will help to resurrect fishing in our area and benefit not only
the participating youth, but also inspire others in their families to grab a pole and make some memories that will last a
lifetime. If you would like to speak to a committee member regarding a donation, the opportunity to volunteer, or any
questions you may have, please see the list below. Thank you for your consideration!
